FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU safety Stephen Hodge has been named to the All-Bowl Team by CollegeFootballNews.com.
Hodge was the Defensive Most Valuable Player for TCU in its 17-16 Poinsettia Bowl victory over previously undefeated No. 9 Boise State. He totaled 11 tackles, including three for a loss with one sack. His interception with 1:47 to play preserved the victory.
Hodge's 11 stops were one shy of a career-high 12 in a 32-7 win over No. 8 BYU earlier in the season.
A senior from Tatum, Texas, Hodge was instrumental in TCU limiting Boise State to just 250 yards of offense, more than 200 less than its season average (456.8) entering the game. The Broncos, who were held to 28 yards rushing, had just one touchdown after averaging 39.4 points per game.
CollegeFootballNews.com ranked Hodge as the 26th-best player during the just completed bowl season.
TCU has won four consecutive bowl games for the first time in its history. The Frogs are also one of just seven teams to have a current bowl winning streak of at least four in a row.
Hodge, who has been invited to the NFL Combine, will play in the Jan. 31 Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Challenge in El Paso.
