FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU's 17-16 victory over Boise State in last month's Poinsettia Bowl was the most watched pre-Christmas bowl game ever on ESPN.
The game drew a 3.74 rating and had 3,661,315 household impressions. It represented an 87 percent increase over last year's Poinsettia Bowl between Utah and Navy.
The Horned Frogs (11-2), who finished seventh in final polls by the Associated Press and USA Today, posted their third 11-win season in the last four years. It was also the fifth time in the past seven campaigns that TCU has won at least 10 games under head coach Gary Patterson.
TCU has won its last four bowl games and is one of just seven schools to have a current bowl winning streak of at least four in a row.
