
It's a postseason weekend for TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU's women's golf, men's tennis and women's tennis teams will all be in postseason action this weekend.After Thursday's opening round of the NCAA Central Regional in Austin, the No. 30 Horned Frog women's golf team is in second place out of 21 teams. TCU trails top seed and third-ranked UCLA by two strokes. The top eight teams after Saturday's final round advance to the NCAA National Championship May 20-23 in Albuquerque.
Valentine Derrey led TCU's first-round effort with a school-record tying 5-under-par 67.
Also in Austin, the 34th-ranked TCU men's tennis team will meet No. 24 Rice on Friday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Regionals. The Frogs will make their 22nd trip to the NCAA Tournament and the 17th appearance in the last 18 seasons.
In Waco, the TCU women's tennis team will play in the NCAA Tournament for a fifth consecutive season when it faces No. 40 Tulsa on Friday at 3 p.m. The Frogs, ranked No. 26 nationally, secured a No. 2 seed.
The men's tennis team captured a share of the Mountain West Conference regular-season championship in addition to winning the MWC Tournament. The women's tennis team earned the regular-season title after going through the league undefeated.
