LINCOLN, Neb. - The following are quotes from some of TCU's top performers on the first day of competition at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
Darryl Anderson
"Joe Brown did a great job today for us in the javelin. He was the performer of the day for us and solidified himself for the NCAA Championships."
"Overall, we had some ups and downs today, but we have to move forward and see what we can do tomorrow. Obviously, the women getting disqualified in the 4x100 was a disappointment for us because we were counting on them to do well, but we have to adjust and move forward. Really, it's the same for everyone after coming off a conference meet because it takes a while to get back into the swing of things. We just need to come back tomorrow and do better."
Joe Brown
"I have been waiting for four years to do this and it really means a lot to qualify for nationals my senior year. I'm really excited to be going to nationals for the first time and to see what I can do."
Jessica Clarke
"I relaxed too much on the backstretch in the 400. Coming into tomorrow I know that I have to step it up a notch and get ready to go."
Kishelle Paul
"I am really happy that I posted the fastest time today going into the finals because that puts me in a good position to do well. I am looking forward to tomorrow and having a chance to win the regional."
Andon Mitchell
"In the 100 I did pretty well. I just tried to listen to coach Anderson and perform. My goal for tomorrow is to place in the top five and go to nationals."
Mychal Dungey
"I think today went pretty well, but we can always do better. My goal for tomorrow is to come in here and win both the 200 and 4x100 relay."
