The Male Athlete of the Week is Justyn Warner of the TCU men's track team. The junior sprinter won the 100 meters with a personal best and regional qualifying time of 10.23. He also posted an NCAA regional time of 21.27 seconds in the 200.
Warner also recorded two NCAA regional qualifying marks and was also part of a 4x100 unit that posted an NCAA regional qualifying time and placed first overall at the TCU Invitational.
His mark in the 100 meters is currently the eighth fastest time in the NCAA this season and ranks him in the top 20 (No. 18) in the world standings. It also is the third fastest time in the Midwest region.
Warner's 100 mark is the fastest time in the MWC this spring, while his 200 time is the third fastest time in the Mountain West.
The female Athlete of the Week is the women's Equestrian team. In just its second year of competition, the TCU equestrian team captured the Varsity Equestrian Western National Championship, finishing the season 15-0.
TCU recorded its first team championship since 1983 when women's golf accomplished the feat.
With the win, TCU set equestrian history becoming the fastest school ever to win a national championship in the sport's ten-year history.
The Road Warrior of the Week is Ben Carruthers of TCU baseball. The TCU junior has extended his hit streak to seven games and has had at least two hits in the last six games (two twice and three four times).
His first home run of the season on came on Saturday broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning.
The second baseman raised his batting average .020 points from .315 to .335 this past week.
Carruthers has not committed an error in the last 14 games spanning 79 chances and has posted an on-base percentage of .500 in the last four games.
