WACO, Texas- After one half of the quarterfinals, TCU leads Baylor 4-0, in its quest to advance to the semi-finals of the Western National Championship.
The format for the championship is different than the regular season matches, as there are two judges instead of one. The scores between the two judges are combined, thus giving higher scores than normal.
A year after posting the high score in the first round last year, Carrie von Uhlit posted the highest score of the tournament with a 151.5. Her score was six points better than her competitor, the largest margin of victory for the Frogs.
Chloe Baker extended her winning streak in Horsemanship to seven straight as she posted the second highest score of the tournament with a 150.5.
Kindel Huffman, the No. 1 seed in the individual Horsemanship competition on Saturday, remained perfect on the season, 12-0, as she scored a 147.
Jessica Bailey who competed in the Reining event last year at the National Championship, scored a 149.5 to win by 2.5.
TCU will finish the second round Thursday morning, needing just one more point to advance to the semi-finals and face the winner of Texas A&M-Kansas State. Stay up to date at gofrogs.com for all the latest tournament news.
