
Baseball hosts Prairie View A&M in midweek series

FORT WORTH, Texas - Coming off a huge series victory over then-No.2 Ole Miss, the TCU Horned Frogs will wrap up a season-long seven-game home stand when they host Prairie View A&M in a midweek series. The opener is slated for Tuesday night with the series finale coming on Wednesday evening. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. both nights at Lupton Stadium.
TCU NOTABLES
TCU went 4-1 last week, including two big wins over then-No. 2 Ole Miss.
The Frogs' offense continues to struggle as they hit just .242 in the five contests with nine extra-base hits.
Bryan Holaday is the hottest hitter in the Frog lineup as he hit .400 last week and is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak.
On the mound, the pitching staff was dominate, posting a 2.30 ERA with 34 strikeouts.
Andrew Cashner earned two wins in three appearances.
LUPTON STADIUM NOTES
The Frogs own a record of 116-43 in the five-year history of the stadium.
The Frogs' tallied the series attendance record against Cal State Fullerton as 7,486 fans passed through the turnstiles.
TCU is 95-34 at Lupton under Coach Schlossnagle.
PRAIRIE VIEW A&M NOTABLES
Prairie View enters the midweek series with a 10-4 mark on the season. The went 3-3 last week, sweeping Huston-Tillotson and dropping games to Sam Houston State and Grambling State.
As a team, the Panthers are hitting .311 with 17 home runs.
On the mound, the Panthers have posted a 6.03 ERA with 100 strike outs.
The Panthers are 39-of-47 in stolen bases.
SERIES BASE KNOCKS
TCU and Prairie View will be meeting on the diamond for the eighth time on Tuesday.
The Frogs are undefeated against the Panthers, holding a 7-0 series lead.
The Panthers have been in the last two NCAA Regionals as the SWAC Champions.
Both TCU and Prairie View A&M were a part of the NCAA Houston Regional in 2007.
The last meeting came in 2001.
