Buljan, Moore Named TCU Athletes of the Week

Zvonko Buljan (Split, Croatia) and Shayla Moore (Denison, Texas) of the TCU men's and women's basketball teams were named Frog Athletes of the Week Tuesday for their individual performances on the court Dec. 8th through the 14th. Neither student-athlete had previously earned the honor.
Buljan, a junior center, led the TCU men's team to a 1-1 showing last week, including a 57-48 home win over Wichita State on Dec. 8. Buljan posted his third double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds vs. the Shockers, while later adding 19 points and eight boards during a Dec. 10 loss at Indiana. For the week, Buljan went 15-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-5 from 3-point range.
Moore, a junior guard, also scored in double figures in the Lady Frogs' lone contest of the week, an 85-80 road loss at No. 24 Oklahoma State. She tied a career best with 12 points vs. the Cowgirls, including 10 in the second half, and drilled a pair of 3-pointers as TCU attempted to rally from a double-digit deficit in the final 20 minutes. Moore's performance marked her third straight double-figure scoring effort.
