BOULDER CITY, Nevada -- Prisela Campbell shot a career-best 69 to lead TCU into a tie for 11th place after Monday's opening round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
A graduate of Fossil Ridge High School in Keller, Texas, Campbell had an eagle on the par-5 16th hole at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. She added five birdies on the day.
Campbell's previous-best score had been a 72 in the opening round of last year's NCAA National Championship.
Campbell is tied for eighth individually. The sophomore is five strokes behind leader Lee Lopez of Long Beach State who carded an 8-under 64.
Valentine Derrey and Rachel Raastad posted 73s for TCU, while Brooke Beeler and Allyson Ferguson both recorded a 75.
The Horned Frogs' 290 has them tied with Missouri, 10 shots off the pace set by Louisville and Pepperdine.
