FORT WORTH, Texas -- With a Sept. 27 date at Oklahoma, which starts a home-and-home series with the Sooners, the TCU football team has finalized its 2008 non-conference schedule.
Oklahoma will play at TCU in 2012. It will be the Sooners' first visit to Amon G. Carter Stadium since 1998.
The Horned Frogs and Sooners will be meeting for the second time in four years. TCU has won its last two games in Norman, defeating Oklahoma 17-10 in 2005 and 20-7 in 1996. Both victories came in season openers.
The Frogs are 5-1 versus Big 12 opponents the last three seasons and 10-2 in their past 12 contests versus teams from BCS-automatic qualifying conferences.
TCU opens the 2008 campaign with back-to-back home games versus Stephen F. Austin (Sept. 6) and Stanford (Sept. 13). The Frogs will begin a season with consecutive home games for the first time since 2004 and just the second time dating back to 1993.
The Frogs and Lumberjacks will be meeting for the first time. TCU won 38-36 at Stanford last season in the first-ever contest between the teams. The Cardinal will be the Frogs' first Pac-10 home opponent since Arizona in 1999.
TCU travels to SMU on Sept. 20 for the State Farm DFW Duel - Battle for the Iron Skillet. The Frogs defeated the Mustangs, 21-7, last season and have won seven of the last eight meetings. TCU holds a 41-39-7 edge in the 87-game series.
TCU's Mountain West Conference dates will be announced by the league office this spring. The Frogs will host Air Force, BYU, San Diego State and Wyoming. TCU travels to Colorado State, New Mexico, UNLV and Utah.
