Now that you have a year of game experience, what's the biggest difference for you in preseason camp this fall compared to last year?"I feel like I can play more aggressive than I did last year. Since I was a redshirt freshman, I was kind of timid out there. Now that I know more stuff, I can be aggressive."
During the recruiting process, what sold you on coming to TCU?
"My family is very important to me and TCU was close to home (Kilgore), like two hours away. That was one of the main attractions for me to come here."
What does Coach Patterson mean to you?
"On the field, he means business and I understand where he's coming from. Off the field, he is a little bit laidback and just a friendly guy."
As far as just being a student at TCU, what are your thoughts on campus life?
"I love TCU. Everybody is nice on campus and speaks to you. It seems like you know everyone."
If you are not studying or playing football, how do you spend your free time?
"I'm probably playing Madden. Besides that, I'd be sleeping."
When you look back at your freshman year, what are the main things you were able to gain as far as what you did well and what you hope to build on for this season?
"In my freshman year, it was just learning all the calls. Now, I know all the plays and do not have to think. I can just react."
How much have you been able to pick up things from the older players?
"When I was redshirted in 2005, Drew Coleman and Quincy Butler helped me a lot. (Cornerbacks) Coach (Charles) McMillian used to say that he didn't have to coach Drew Coleman. Drew would tell us everything we didn't know and was like a teacher on the field."
You room with safety Corderra Hunter. Does football extend into your apartment?
"We always talk about football. It never stops. It seems like that's all we ever discuss."
