
Matranga and Emanuelsson receive postseason honors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- TCU seniors Catherine Matranga and Elin Emanuelsson have received postseason honors from the National Golf Coaches Association.Matranga is an honorable-mention All-American while joining Emanuelsson on the NGCA All-Central Region Team.
A Fort Worth native, Matranga was also All-Mountain West Conference. She was named the MWC Golfer of the Month for September after taking medalist honors at the Dick McGuire Invitational and placing second at the Jeannine McHaney Intercollegiate.
Matranga improved her stroke average each year at TCU with a 73.8 mark in 2006-07. She tied for 11th at the NCAA Championship for the best finish by a Horned Frog golfer at the national tournament since 1983. Matranga tied for seventh at the Central Regional.
Matranga's 75.7 career stroke average ranks fourth all-time at TCU. She's second in rounds played with 147.
Emanuelsson tied for ninth at the NCAA Central Regional as the Frogs posted their best regional finish (third) in school history. A native of Nacka, Sweden, Emanuelsson recorded TCU's second-best score at the NCAA Championship. A final-round 73 enabled her to tie for 34th individually. She dropped her score each day of the event.
Emanuelsson ranks fourth with 129 career rounds played at TCU. She is 13th in stroke average with a 77.9 mark.
