
Von Uhlit completes competition at NRHA Derby

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma- Carrie von Uhlit finished in ninth place Saturday at the National Reining Horse Association Derby in Oklahoma City.The Derby was comprised of the top collegiate riders in the country, each representing the different divisions of collegiate equestrian. Von Uhlit was one of just four selected from Varsity Equestrian.
The Derby was very tightly contested from top to bottom. Von Uhlit scored a 211, which was only eight points behind the winner.
The competition capped off an impressive inaugural season for Von Uhlit in Varsity Equestrian. Last month she achieved the high score in both the reining and horsemanship events during the first round of the Western National Championship. Von Uhlit was the only rider in Varsity Equestrian who was undefeated in horsemanship for the entire season.
