
Frogs prepare for first round action

WACO, Texas-The TCU Equestrian team's Western squad will begin their pursuit of a national championship Wednesday in Waco, as they compete against South Carolina in the first round of the Varsity Equestrian National Championship.Competing for the Frogs are all five of the riders who have previously won national championships on an individual level. They include Carrie von Uhlit, Kindel Huffman, Nicole Barnes, Jessica Bailey and Chloe Baker.
The match up is a rematch of TCU's previous game, when the Gamecocks won 12-6. However the Frogs faired much better in the Western portion of the competition, tying South Carolina 5-5 in match points but losing the tiebreaker 645.5-643.5.
The first round will start at 8:30 a.m. beginning with the horsemanship competition, a competition in which Carrie von Uhlit remains the only undefeated rider in the nation. All action can be followed on gofrogs.com, which will have the results immediately following the conclusion of round one.
