FORT WORTH, Texas-In its first year, TCU can make history with a landmark win over Auburn Thursday at 3 p.m. in Mansfield, Texas. The Tigers, last year's defending varsity equestrian national champions, provide a bit of a learning opportunity for a program looking to make a big statement.
While most fans are looking for the elusive first win in the program's history, the Lady Frogs are just focusing on the fundamentals, which they hope will lead to bigger things down the road.
"We are trying not to focus on outcomes, but merely on execution," TCU head coach Gary Reynolds said. "We need to execute our patterns and courses to improve."
Individually, Carrie von Uhlit can add to her already impressive rookie campaign as she searches for her third and fourth MVPs on the season. Saturday against Texas A&M, she scored TCU's only two points in the horsemanship and reining events.
After Thursday, the Lady Frogs hit the road for a two-day tournament beginning Saturday at Fresno State. All action can be followed on gofrogs.com.
