Derrey named MWC Golfer of the Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- TCU sophomore Valentine Derrey has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for October.
A sophomore from Paris, France, Derrey is a repeat winner of the league award. She shared MWC Golfer of the Month accolades for September.
Derrey posted a pair of top-10 finishes last month, recording a 72.8 stroke average over six rounds in two tournaments. For the season, she tops the MWC with a 72.7 mark. Derrey is ranked 13th nationally.
Derrey began October by leading TCU to a 14-stroke victory at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. She finished third with a 5-over-par 221 (73-74-74).
At the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Derrey tied for seventh with an even-par 216 (74-69-73). Her second-round 69 is tied for the low score in the MWC this season.
