
TCU women's golf in first at Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Four Horned Frogs carded rounds of 75 or better as the TCU women's golf team took over first place after Saturday's second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course.
The 39th-ranked Frogs, who shot a 9-over-par 297, hold a seven-stroke lead over East Tennessee State heading into Sunday's final round.
TCU sophomore Valentine Derrey and freshman Prisela Campbell are both tied for second individually with 3-over 147s, three strokes behind East Tennessee State's Laura Johnson.
Campbell, a Fort Worth native (Fossil Ridge High School) playing in her first collegiate tournament, shot a second-round 73 for TCU's low score on the day. Derrey posted a 74.
The Frogs' five-player lineup features three freshmen, including Melissa Loh who carded a 75. TCU senior Carrie Morris posted her second-straight 75 and is tied for sixth with a 6-over-par 150 through 36 holes. Allyson Ferguson shot a 76 Saturday and is in a deadlock for 19th.
Sunday's final round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Central.
