FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's (4-2, 1-2) and women's (9-3, 2-3) swimming and diving team will host Utah in a Mountain West Conference dual meet at the University Recreation Center on Saturday. The meet will now start at noon instead of the original time of 5 p.m.
The women will look to grab their 10th win for the sixth consecutive season as they face an undefeated Utah squad (4-0, 2-0) who narrowly defeated the Frogs last season in Salt Lake City, 125-118. The men will kick off the spring season against the Utes (3-4, 0-1) who triumphed 129-114 a year ago.
"We're very excited to have the opportunity to swim against Utah at home," said TCU head coach Richard Sybesma.
Cheryl Townsend will look to add another solid performance for the women on Saturday as the sophomore tallied three event wins against Northern Arizona on Jan. 8. Senior Erica Tate will try to defend her undefeated dual meet mark of 7-0 in the 50-free event.
On the men's side, Guillermo Ramirez and Jonathon Berrettini will look to lead the Frogs in the backstroke events, while Alejandro Gomez and Scott McCracken will lead the distance and sprint events, respectively. The group is coming off a successful showing at the UNLV Invite on Dec. 16-18, where they combined for 10 top-five finishes.
