
Frogs set to host Nike/LaQuinta Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will wrap up its final weekend of tournament play when it hosts the Nike/LaQuinta Invitational this weekend at the University Rec Center. The Frogs will welcome Centenary, Davidson and Ole Miss on Friday and Saturday. The tournament kicks off on Friday afternoon. TCU will open against Davidson Friday night at 7 p.m. Back-to-back matches on Saturday against Centenary and Ole Miss will start at 1 p.m.The Frogs and Webstreaming:

A Look Back At The North Texas Match:
For the second time this season, the TCU Horned Frogs rebounded from a 0-2 deficit to win 3-2 (33-35, 28-30, 30-19, 30-22, 15-6). The mistakes that cost the Frogs games one and two were erased following the 10-minute intermission and the hitters came alive. They capped off the come-from-behind victory, hitting .467 in game five. Lauren Otto had 16 kills of her 19 kills in the final three games, while Anna Vaughn poured in a season-high 22 kills, 11 in the final three contests. Calli Corley recorded a game-high 25 digs and Nirelle Hampton pitched in with 55 assists.
Emily Allen picked up a double-double in the match with 12 kills and 11 digs, as did Otto with 19 kills and 14 digs. The Frogs outhit the Mean Green .246 to .109 as they racked up 83 kills. The defensive efforts of Corley and Kourtney Edwards produced 71 digs and 12.5 blocks.

TCU Horned Frogs
Enters the tournament with an overall record of 8-1 on the season.
Needs two more victories to record the best-ever start in school history, previously 9-1 in 2003.
Have won both tournaments they have appeared in this season.
The Frogs are led offensively by Anna Vaughn's 146, an average of 3.95 per game. Defensively, Calli Corley leads the squad with 175 digs. Kourtney Edwards is the blocks leader with 43.
Anna Vaughn was named MVP of both tournaments.
Ole Miss Rebels
Enters the tournament with a 5-2 overall record.
Four of their five wins have been sweeps, while their other win came in five against Arkansas-Little Rock. The two losses have been in four games.
They are led offensively by Katie Kramer, who averages 4.44 kills a game. She leads the squad with 111 kills. Defensively Allison Weber has tallied a team-high 91 digs. Lauren Moffett is the blocks leader with 23 on the season.
The Rebels are 2-1 away from Oxford.
Centenary Ladies
Enters the tournament with a 2-5 record.
They are 0-3 away from Shreveport.
The Ladies are led by Danielle Bochat's 63 kills, an average of 2.74 per game. Defensively, Lauren Fielding paces the team with 97 kills, while Ashlee Freeman is the blocks leader with 11.
Davidson Wildcats
Enters the tournament with a 5-3 record.
Two of their three losses have come to teams ranked in the top 15 (No. 3 Washington and No. 15 Ohio).
They are led offensively by Liz Williamson's 113 kills (3.90 per game) and defensively by Courtney Cron's 122 digs. Kittery Neale is the blocks leader with 22.
