
TCU football ranked 21st in preseason USA Today poll

MCLEAN, Va. -- The TCU football team is ranked 21st in the preseason USA Today poll released Friday.It's the Horned Frogs' highest appearance in a preseason poll since 2000 when they were ranked 20th by the Associated Press.
TCU has the nation's second-longest current winning streak at 10 games in a row, trailing only national champion Texas (20).
In just five seasons, Gary Patterson is the only head coach in TCU history to record three 10-win campaigns. The Mountain West Conference champion Frogs were 11-1 last year in finishing ninth in the final USA Today poll. It was TCU's highest season-ending ranking since 1959.
The Frogs open the 2006 campaign on Sept. 3 at Baylor in a nationally-televised contest on Fox Sports Net. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m.
