FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Athletics Department has announced that 2006 football season tickets are sold out due to a record number of purchases this fall.
The No. 21 Horned Frogs have sold 13,867 season tickets to better the previous mark of 13,806 in 2000.
The season-ticket sell out is made possible by all individual tickets being sold for the Sept. 16 home game versus Texas Tech.
"We are very excited to have this tremendous support from the TCU community," TCU athletics director Danny Morrison said. "It's a great tribute to the momentum in our football program under (head coach) Gary Patterson."
TCU opens the 2006 campaign Sunday with a 4:30 p.m. nationally-televised (Fox Sports Net) contest at Baylor. The home opener is Saturday, Sept. 9 versus UC Davis. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at Amon Carter Stadium.
Tickets for the remaining five home games (Sept. 9 vs. UC Davis, Sept. 28 vs. BYU, Oct. 28 vs. Wyoming, Nov. 18 vs. San Diego State and Dec. 2 vs. Air Force) are available at www.gofrogs.com or by calling (817) 257-FROG.
