FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football team's season opener at Baylor, originally scheduled for Sept. 2, has been moved to Sunday, Sept. 3, to accommodate national television on Fox Sports Net (FSN). Kickoff will be 4:30 p.m. CDT at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas.
For the first time in school history, TCU will have all its regular-season games on television. Five of those 12 contests will be seen nationally.
TCU and Baylor are meeting for the first time since the breakup of the Southwest Conference following the 1995 season. The Bears won the last two meetings to take a 49-47-7 series edge.
The defending Mountain West Conference champion Horned Frogs were 2-0 against the Big 12 last year, winning at Oklahoma in the season opener before a victory over Iowa State in the EV1.net Houston Bowl. When including a Sept. 16 home game with Texas Tech, TCU will face four Big 12 opponents in a stretch of 15 contests dating back to the start of last season.
Baylor is coached by 1973 TCU graduate Guy Morriss, an All-Southwest Conference offensive guard his senior year for the Frogs. Morriss was then a second-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles as he embarked on a 15-year National Football League career.
