FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU baseball team had a strong showing in the classroom this past fall as it posted a team GPA of 3.02. Since tracking of the GPAs began in 1998, no baseball team had posted a GPA of over 3.0. Nineteen members of the squad posted GPAs of 3.0 or better.
"Considering the competitiveness of the classroom environment at TCU, this is a great accomplishment for our team," remarked head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "We talk daily about a 3.0 becoming our academic "Omaha." Understanding the difficulty of becoming a major league player, it is important that our players strive for excellence in the classroom so that they put themselves in the best possible position for success in their chosen field after graduation. I couldn't be more proud of them."
