
Sanders named a Freshman All-American

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU cornerback Nick Sanders has been named an honorable-mention Freshman All-American by The Sporting News.A redshirt freshman from Kilgore, Texas, Sanders has started all 12 games for the No. 24 Frogs (10-2). He helps key a TCU secondary that has allowed just nine touchdown passes, the lowest total in the Mountain West Conference.
Sanders places second on the Frogs with three interceptions. He recorded two picks in a 31-17 win at Army, including one returned 21 yards for a touchdown. It was TCU's first return of an interception for a score in nearly two years.
Sanders has five pass break-ups as he ranks among the MWC leaders with eight passes defended. He has totaled 29 tackles (20 solo), including one for a loss.
The Frogs face Northern Illinois on Dec. 19 in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
