
Matranga receives mid-season honors from Golf World

WILTON, Conn. -- TCU's Catherine Matranga has been selected to Golf World's Mid-Season All-America team while also being named the nation's Most Improved Player.A senior from Fort Worth (Paschal High School), Matranga tops the Mountain West Conference with a 72.4 stroke average. She's ranked 31st nationally by Golfweek.
Matranga took medalist honors at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. (Sept. 11-12) with a 5-under-par 214. She was also 5-under in placing second at the Jeannine McHaney Intercollegiate in Lubbock, Texas (Sept. 18-19).
Matranga has three top-10 finishes in TCU's four fall tournaments.
The Horned Frogs return to action Tuesday when they begin play at the Aloha Purdue Collegiate in Hawaii.
