
Matranga moves into top five at Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Catherine Matranga is tied for fifth among individuals, while the No. 31 TCU women's golf team is in a deadlock for eighth after second-round play Saturday at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C.Matranga carded her second consecutive 75 and is at 6-over-par 150, 10 strokes behind leader Alice Kim of Northwestern.
TCU's Camille Blackerby, the runner-up at last year's Lady Paladin Invitational, shot a 77 Saturday and is tied for 22nd with a 12-over-par 156. After an opening round 76, Horned Frog senior Stacey Bieber put together an 81 and is tied for 25th with a 36-hole score of 157.
The Horned Frogs shot a 25-over 313 and are tied with host Furman. Northwestern fired a 303 to build a 10-stroke lead over second-place Florida International.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Sunday with a 9 a.m. Eastern shotgun start.
