FORT WORTH, Texas - Austin Adams has been one of the most consistent hitters for the Horned Frogs the past two seasons. He earned Conference USA Tournament MVP honors as a freshman, helping lead the Frogs to their first-ever tournament title. He is a career .331 hitter and has 15 home runs in two seasons. He took some time to sit down and answer four questions about his experiences at TCU.
Q:You transferred to TCU in the winter of 2004 and walked on to the baseball team after a semester on the football field with Baylor. What prompted you to make your decision to come to TCU and play baseball?
A:"I knew that the opportunity to play baseball at TCU was available. That was real appealing to me because the majority of my family had attended TCU or was attending TCU at the time. I love Fort Worth and love everything about TCU."
Q:What are your impressions of the team after two weeks of practice?
A:"I am encouraged about the potential of our team. We definitely have the talent to do well this season, it will just be a matter of how we come together as the season progresses. Being able to deal with adversity will be very important to this team as well since we are a fairly young squad."
Q:What are your favorite memories of the past two seasons at TCU?
A: "I have great memories of winning the C-USA Tournament my freshman year and going on to the regional tournament in Austin. The older I get, the more I realize how special that time was in my life."
Q:What has your experience at TCU been like, both athletically and academically, since you transferred here?
A:"My experience at TCU has been incredible. Athletics and academics at TCU are second to none. Both demand an incredible amount of effort and time but, in the end, they are worth it. I am thankful for the people I have met and the relationships I have formed while being a student-athlete at TCU."
