
TCU football places third in combined Top 25/GSR rankings

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football team places third in Division I-A when combining results from the final USA Today Top 25 poll and the recently released NCAA Graduation Success Rate report.
The Mountain West Conference champion Horned Frogs, who own the nation's second-longest current winning streak at 10 games, concluded the 2005 campaign ranked ninth in the USA Today coaches' poll. TCU football is 11th nationally with its 86 percent GSR.
TCU's combined ranking total of 20 places it behind only Notre Dame and Penn State. The Fighting Irish top all Division I-A members with a 96 percent GSR while finishing 11th in the season-ending USA Today poll. The Nittany Lions are 13th in the GSR (84 percent) and third in the final football poll.
With its 86 percent GSR score, TCU ranks fourth among the final Top 25 football teams. The Division I-A GSR average is 65 percent.
