FORT WORTH, Texas -- Included below is a Q&A with TCU wide receiver Walter Bryant. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound redshirt freshman is a native of San Angelo, Texas.Q: Temperatures have been over 100 degrees the last two days of practice for the TCU football team. How do you combat the heat?
A: You drink a lot of water and salt your food during meals. You really need to keep your body hydrated at all times.
Q: Are you excited about classes beginning tomorrow at TCU?
A: We're looking forward to the start of classes because it gets us out of two-a-days. If we had our choice between two-a-days and class, most people would pick class. Two-a-days are really tough.
Q: Describe the bond among the Frog receivers this season?
A: All the receivers were here last year except for maybe two or three, so everyone knows the system. We've had a year of bonding so we all know each other pretty well. We know where we'll be in different spots and times. There's a very good relationship among the receiving corps.
Q: What's your take on the TCU defense?
A: The defense looks real good this year. Everything is really starting to come together. The secondary is much better, the linebackers are great and we're starting to get our pass rush. It looks like we'll have a pretty complete defense.
Q: What are you like away from football?
A: I'm a relaxed and laidback person. I like to sleep and lay around the house all day. During football, it's all high tempo so you have to be on the edge constantly.
Q: What's it like being a student at TCU?
A: TCU provides a great education. If you go for a job and can show that you have a degree from TCU, that's going to increase your chances for employment. The TCU degree makes a big difference in the job market.
