
Four Frogs Sign Free Agent Contracts

Four members of the 2004 TCU football squad have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams. Offensive guard Zach Bray signed with the St. Louis Rams, wide receiver Reggie Harrell inked a deal with the Dallas Cowboys, tight end Cody McCarty agreed to terms with the San Diego Chargers, and linebacker Martin Patterson signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bray, a 6-4, 312-pound offensive guard started 24 games in his TCU career including every game over the final two seasons. He was regarded as one of the strongest players on the squad, as he owns the school record in the bench press with a mark of 650 pounds.
Harrell, a 6-3, 215-pound wide receiver finished his career with 103 receptions for 1,812 yards and six touchdowns. His 103 catches ranks ninth on the TCU all-time lsit, while his 1,812 receiving yards ranks sixth.
McCarty, a 6-4, 260-pound tight end, caught 39 passes in his career for 636 yards and four touchdowns. A first team all-Conference USA performer as a senior, he played in the 2005 Senior Bowl and is a second generation NFL player, as his father, Mickey, played for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Patterson, a 6-2, 228-pound linebacker, led the Frogs in tackles in each of the last two seasons, including 131 stops as a senior. The second team all-Conference USA performer played in 46 games during his TCU career including 35 starts.
The quartet join offensive tackle Anthony Alabi as 2004 Horned Frog seniors who will be in NFL camps in 2005. Alabi was selected in the fifth round of the draft by the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
