FORT WORTH, Texas - The ninth-rated TCU men's golf team continued its strong play at the Hall of Fame Invitational at Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas, with a second-round 289 (+1) on Saturday. The Horned Frogs now reside in a share of third place among the 19 schools with a 36-hole sum of 574 (-2).
Oklahoma State (562) blistered the 7,353-yard, par-72 course today to the tune of a 16-under 270 to overtake the Frogs, who began the day atop the leaderboard. UNLV (563), TCU (574), New Mexico (574) and Texas (580) make up the remainder of the top five. TCU's six players have not made worse than a bogey in the 216 total holes played.
Senior J.J. Killeen stayed on target for his third consecutive top-10 finish after scoring a one-under 71 in round two. He now has a minus-three sum of 141 over two rounds. The Lubbock product is tied for sixth place, just three strokes behind the current individual leader, Ryan Moore of UNLV (138).
True freshman James Sacheck turned in the best round of the day by a Horned Frog player, a two-under 70. He currently shares ninth place with a two-round score of 142 (-2). However, Sacheck is playing as an individual and therefore does not count toward TCU's team score.
