Shelby Ford Named Conference USA Hitter of the Week

Fort Worth, Texas - TCU second baseman Shelby Ford was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week for his performance this past weekend against the Utah Utes. The honor marks the first in Ford's career and the first for TCU this spring.
Ford went 7-for-11 (.636) in a sweep of Utah, recording a pair of two-hit outings and a three-hit outing. He smacked four doubles and also drove in four runs. Ford drew a pair of walks, stole three bases and scored four runs in the series. In Friday's opener, Ford went 3-for-4 at the plate, his only out coming on a long fly ball to the fence in left center field. In both games on Sunday, Ford put together two-hit contests.
The only son of Paula and Mike Ford, he is a graduate of Southwest High School in Fort Worth.
