
Patterson Foundation contributes to American Red Cross

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Gary Patterson Foundation, established by the TCU head football coach, has presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to the American Red Cross to be used for hurricane/disaster relief for children.The funds were made possible through the sale of "Go Frogs" unity bands. One hundred percent of the proceeds are designated for charity.
Future sales of the unity bands will go to Project Purple, a program allowing disadvantaged children to attend TCU football games. The Gary Patterson Foundation also funds educational programs for children from low-income backgrounds.
Patterson is in his fifth season as head coach and eighth overall at TCU. He is the first coach in school history to post three 10-win seasons. He has also been a part of staffs that have guided TCU to seven bowl appearances in the last eight campaigns.
The Mountain West Conference champion and 14th-ranked Frogs will face Iowa State Dec. 31 in the EV1.net Houston Bowl.
