FORT WORTH, Texas -- After trailing, 2-0, the TCU volleyball team rallied to knock off the Colorado State Rams in five games and snapped the Rams 72-match win streak after leading 2-0 Tuesday night at the University Rec Center. The Frogs look to carry that momentum into the weekend as they welcome No. 13 BYU and Utah to the University Rec Center.
The team will play the final two matches of a three-match home stint this weekend.
BYU comes into the weekend with a perfect 19-0 overall mark and an unblemished 10-0 record in conference play. On Tuesday night, the Cougars demolished instate rival Weber State in three games on the efforts of sophomore outside-hitter Chelsea Goodman. The sophomore phenom tallied 14 kills while hitting .385.
In a Sept. 30 matchup, the Frogs fell to the Cougars in three games at Smith Fieldhouse. The Cougars' Erica Lott recorded a match-high with 13 kills and Anna Vaughn led the Frogs with 12 kills. After the match, TCU made the 45-minute commute to Salt Lake City for a Saturday night tilt with the Utah Utes.
The Utes defeated the Frogs in four games in the Oct. 1 contest. Utah comes into the weekend competition with an overall record of 15-6 and a 7-3 conference mark. The Utes are led by outside-hitter Shelley Sommerfeldt.
TCU comes into the weekend with a three-match win streak and will go for its first wins versus the Cougars and Utes. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
