
Horned Frog Baseball Starts Spring Practice

FORT WORTH, Texas - The 2005 TCU baseball season will get underway Friday morning as the squad will hit the practice field for the first time this spring under the guidance of head coach Jim Schlossnagle. The Frogs will practice twice on Friday and Saturday as the season gets underway.
The baseball squad, ranked No. 21 in the preseason polls by Baseball America, returns 13 players from 2004 and welcomes 21 newcomers to the field. Headling the group of returners are pre-season all-Americans Chad Huffman and Shelby Ford and the nations third best recruiting class that included 13 freshman, five junior college transfers and three four-year transfers.
The Frogs will practice Tuesdays thru Fridays from 2:00-5:00 and have Monday's off. All practices are open to the public. Media wishing to conduct interviews with players and coaches may do so by contacting Brandie Davidson at 817-257-7479.
TCU will taste its first game action of the season will come on Feb. 5th as they square off against the Alumni squad, coached by former TCU Athletics Director Frank Windegger. The Frogs open the season on Friday, Feb. 11 in a three-game series against future Mountain West foe Utah. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m.
