TCU Athletics will unveil SuperFrog's Reading Challenge presented by Cash America, on Wednesday, October 6. The kickoff presentation for this new initiative will be held at 10:30 a.m. at E.M. Daggett Elementary School (958 Page Street), featuring TCU student-athletes and students from Daggett Elementary.
SuperFrog's Reading Challenge presented by Cash America is a program that encourages elementary school children from the third to fifth grades to improve their reading by providing incentives such as tickets to TCU athletic events. The Reading Challenge will incorporate visits to elementary schools by TCU student-athletes from all 19 athletic programs. More than 5,000 students in the Fort Worth and Irving school districts will participate in the inaugural year of the program.
"We are very excited about the program and to be working with such a respected and local company like Cash America," said Eric Hyman, TCU Athletics Director. "This is just one way that our student-athletes can make a positive contribution in our community."
"We work diligently to support all of our communities, but as a Fort Worth-based company, we are particularly pleased to work with our hometown university and such a worthwhile program," said Dan Feehan, president and chief executive officer of Cash America. "SuperFrog's Reading Challenge is a great way for Cash America and TCU to pool our resources and help children develop skills that will benefit them for a lifetime."
SuperFrog's Reading Challenge presented by Cash America, will work with seven elementary schools this fall. The program will complement the Reading Frogs initiative supported by TCU and the Athletics Department.
Any questions regarding the program should be directed to the TCU Athletics Department at (817) 257-7969.
