The TCU Horned Frog football team donned full gear for the first time this fall, as they went through another two-hour practice session on Friday morning. Once again the temperatures were very pleasant for the Frogs, as they worked on the new all-weather surface field behind Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Frogs will have their first two-a-day practice on Saturday. They are scheduled to take the field at both 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
NOTES AND QUOTES FROM DAY FIVE OF CAMP
TCU Notes:
- RB Robert Merrill missed his second day of practice with a hamstring injury. He is listed as day-to-day.
- DT Jeremy Breedlove was on crutches with a knee injury for Friday's practice. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Saturday.
Quoting Coach Patterson
"It was a lot better day of practice on both sides. We need to finish the last fifteen minutes, I didn't think we finished very well. They were two important drills with `Mayday', our two-minute drill, and punting. We have to be able to play for four quarters."
On the injury situation:
"(Offensive guard Zach) Bray we don't know, he hurt his knee. (Defensive tackle Jeremy) Breedlove is going to get an MRI tomorrow. Merrill just has to get his hamstring better."
On Terence James playing with the second team defense:
"We grade the players everyday at the end of practice. If somebody is better than somebody else, they move up. It's not the YMCA, not everybody gets to play."
