
C-USA Outdoor Track Meet Gets Underway

Louisville, Kentucky - The 2004 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships got underway Thursday at Cardinal Park Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The only events involving TCU athletes were the men's and women's 10,000 meter run.
On the women's side, sophomore Katrina Zielinski was the Frogs' top finisher, placing 14th with a time of 39:17.62. Teammate McKale Davis was the next runner to finish, covering the distance in 39:49.22, while Alayne Thompson placed a disappointing 17th, crossing the finish line in 40:17.31. Ruth Limo of Cincinnati defended her conference title with a winning time of 36:38.86.
The TCU men also finished out of the scoring, with Alex Morris placing 11th with a time of 33:24.99, while Johnathan Bundren covered the 10K distance in 34:49.84 to place 15th. Brent Des Roches of Marquette posted a winning time of 30:58.01.
The meet continues Friday on the University of Louisville campus with the running events beginning at 4:30 p.m.
