
TCU Set For Texas Relays

The TCU Flyin' Frogs track & field teams are set for the 77th running of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays this weekend in Austin.
"This is one of the four or five outdoor meets we focus on each year," said TCU head coach Monte Stratton. "We don't compete in many events, but the ones we do compete in, we try to do at a high level. We're looking forward to the challenge this meet brings."
TCU will field competitiors in the following events:
100-meter dash: Jabari Fields, Kandis Bell, Virgil Hodge
100-meter Hurdles: MaKeatha Cooper
400-meter Hurdles: Nathaniel Garcia
1500-meter run: Calandra Stewart
3000-meter Steeplechase: Heather Isbell, Alayne Thompson
5000-meter run: Mary Kinyanjui
10,000-meter run: Johnathan Bundren; Katrina Zielinski
4x100-meter Relay: Jabari Fields, Cleavon Dillon, Jerry Harris, Michael Frater
Jamee Jones, Donita Harmon, Kandis Bell, Virgil Hodge
4x400-meter Relay: Brett Wilson, Dwayne Lynes-Bell, Che Chavez, Jerry Harris

The Flyin' Frogs have had their share of success at the Texas Relays over the years. The Frogs have captured Most Outstanding Team honors on four occasions: 1988, 1991, 2000 and 2001. They have featured the meet's Most Outstanding Performer three times: Percival Spencer in 1997 and Kim Collins in 2000 and 2001. They have won the university men's 4x100 meter relay title nine times: 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2001; and have won the university men's 4x200 meter relay eight times: 1975, 1983, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 2000. The men's sprint medley (200-200-400-800) has captured the gold medal at the Texas Relays on three previous occasions: 1982, 1998 and 2001. The TCU women took top honors in the 4x100 meter relay in 1997.
