2004 REGULAR SEASON COMES TO AN END: The TCU Horned Frogs (5-5, 3-4 C-USA) wrap up the 2004 regular season when they host the Tulane Green Wave (4-5, 2-4 C-USA) on Saturday, November 27. Game time is set for 2:05 p.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. This is the final regular season contest for the Horned Frogs in Conference USA. Next year the Frogs will move to the Mountain West Conference. TCU is 32-15 since joining the league at the start of the 2001 season, including a 20-10 mark in conference action. The Frogs have posted league records of 4-3, 6-2, 7-1 and are 3-4 this season.
WHAT'S TRANSPIRED: TCU opened the season with a pair of non-conference wins over Northwestern and SMU, but dropped five of their next seven games before bouncing back with an impressive 42-17 win over Southern Miss last weekend. The Frogs have defended their home turf for the most part this season, winning four of five at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. Dating back to the 2001 season, the Frogs have won 17 of their last 19 games at home. Tulane comes into the contest well rested following an off week. They have won two straight, defeating Navy (42-10) and Army (45-31) to keep their bowl hopes alive. They need to defeat TCU then upset Louisville on December 4 to become bowl eligible.
BOWL HOPES: Following last Saturday's win over Southern Miss, the Frogs (5-5) are still in the hunt to become bowl eligible for a seventh straight season. Standing at 4-5 after nine games, TCU was in a similar situation in the 2001 season. With their backs against the wall, TCU came away with a home win over 17th-ranked Louisville (37-22) and a 14-12 decision at Southern Miss to earn a spot in the galleryfurniture.com Bowl against Texas A&M.
SENIOR SALUTE: The Horned Frog Nation says goodbye to the following 19 seniors, playing their last regular season game at Amon G. Carter Stadium: Anthony Alabi, Clif Alexander, Kenny Boyd, Zach Bray, Jerome Braziel, John Braziel, Andrew Calovich, Marvin Godbolt, Reggie Harrell, Brandon Hassell, Chase Johnson, Cody McCarty, Billy Overshown, Martin Patterson, Eric Schautteet, Stephen Simmons, Logo Tevaseu, Brad Veale and Mark Walker.
