
H2O Frogs Claim Two Dual Victories On Wednesday

Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU women's swimming and diving team picked up a pair of wins on Wednesday night at the University Recreation Center. The Frogs posted the top times in 12 of the 16 events to defeat North Texas, 80-57, and Incarnate Word, 85-55, to improve their overall record to 7-0 this season.
Sophomore Erica Tate led the team as she won two individual events and was on both winning relays. The Grapevine, Texas, native opened the meet teaming with seniors Aimee Moreau and Tiffany Strawn and junior Leann Cathcart to win the 200-medley relay in 1:49.49. The winning time was more than three seconds ahead of North Texas' second place team.
In the seventh event of the night, Tate got her first individual title in the 50-free when she and Cathcart finished one-two. Tate came away with a time of 23.78 seconds, while Cathcart finished with a season-best time of 24.16 seconds. In her next individual event, Tate claimed the top spot in the 100-butterfly by more than four seconds as she touched the wall in 57.24.
Tate teamed up with Moreau, Cathcart and Duerringer in the 200-freestyle relay in the final event of the evening. The quartet was able to close out the meet victorious as they finished with a time of 1:38.16.
Junior Kelly Seely and freshman Pam Campbell had solid nights in the diving competition and the pair finished first and second, respectively, in both the 1 and 3-meter Springboard events. Seely, competing for the first time this season, won the 1-meter with a score of 230.63 and the 3-meter with a mark of 233.70.
Two sophomores, Christi Cannon and Keleigh Wentworth, each posted the top times in two events in the competition. Cannon swept the 100 and 200-breaststroke events, while her time of 2:22.65 in the 200-breast was more than a second and a half better than her previous season best of 2:24.50. Meanwhile, Wentworth was the top performer in the 200-fly (2:08.91) and 200-IM (2:11.44) in the meet.
The TCU men's team will travel to SMU tomorrow night for a dual meet against the Mustangs beginning at 7 p.m. The women will return to action on Nov. 20 when both squads head to Springfield, Mo., for a meet against Southwest Missouri State.
