Former TCU track & field standout, Darvis Patton, captured the gold medal in the 200 meter dash at the U.S. Track & Field Championships, held Sunday in Palo Alto, Calif.
Patton broke the tape in 20.15 seconds to edge John Capel (20.17) and Joshua Johnson (20.22) for his first national title. Patton had finished second in both the 2002 U.S. indoor and outdoor championships.
Another former TCU runner, Khadevis Robinson, finished second in the 800 meters. Robinson's time of 1:46.21, was just behind David Krummenacker's winning time of 1:45.53.
Both Patton and Robinson will represent the United States at the world championships, which will be held in Paris in August.
