104th SEASON OF TCU BASEBALL
This is the 104th edition of TCU baseball. The Frogs have an all-time mark of 1510-1312-25 for a winning percentage of .534. Last year, the Frogs recorded a 22-34 win-loss mark, including a 12-18 record in conference play. Next season, TCU will become a member of Conference USA.
WAC PLAY
The Frogs are in their fifth and final season in the Western Athletic Conference. TCU has compiled a conference record of 67-54-0 in four WAC seasons. Last season, TCU ended conference play with a record of 12-18. Always tough at the TCU Diamond, the Frogs have a record of 43-19 in home (WAC) conference games. On the road, the Frogs have compiled a record of 24-35 in WAC games.
GAME COVERAGE
All three games of the San Jose State series will be carried on KTCU (88.7 FM) with Chuck LaMendola calling all the action. The third game of the series will be joined in progress, following the conclusion of the TCU womens basketball game. TCU fans can access the radio broadcast of any TCU game from anywhere in the world via the internet at www.ktcu.tcu.edu. The TCU pregame show will begin 15 minutes before the first pitch of every TCU game.
HEAD COACH LANCE BROWN
The 2001 Horned Frogs are under the guidance of head coach Lance Brown (TCU, 1967). Brown, TCUs all-time winningest coach, has a record of 427-407. In his 15th season at TCU, Brown is assisted by Donnie Watson, Barry Takahashi and Tom Hardgrove.
TCU-SAN JOSE STATE SERIES
This will be the 15th meeting between the two schools... the Frogs trail in the overall series, 5-9... last season, the two teams split the six-game season series... SJSU won two of three (6-11, 7-5, 0-5) at Municipal Stadium ... TCU won two of three (13-5, 6-4, 3-5) at the TCU Diamond... overall, TCU is 1-5 in six games played at Municipal Stadium... San Jose State swept a three-game home series against TCU in the 1997 season... this will be the first of two series this season between the two teams... the Frogs will host San Jose State on April 27-29.
TOUGH SCHEDULE
The Frogs are scheduled to play 35 games against teams that participated in the 2000 NCAA baseball tournament, including the six against San Jose State... overall, 24 of the 35 games are against WAC opponents... Rice, Fresno State, San Jose State and WAC newcomer Nevada all advanced to the NCAA Regionals... San Jose State reached the College World Series... the remaining 11 games are against Texas Tech, Baylor, Texas, Southwest Texas and Oklahoma... the Frogs will play a total of 11 games this season against members of the Big 12 conference... TCU will face Texas Tech (3 games), Baylor (1 game), Texas (3 games), Kansas (1 game), Oklahoma (2 games) and Iowa State (1 game)... thus far, the Frogs are 2-3 against the Big 12 with wins coming against Texas and Oklahoma.

David Tombrella pitched eight solid innings, holding the Sooners to one run on six hits... the win was TCUs first over Oklahoma since a 21-9 victory in 1996, a span of nine games... Tombrella allowed his defense to do the work, as he induced 18 groundball outs, including two double plays... Walter Olmstead led the Frogs with three hits, two runs batted in... Rudy Rivera, Jason Price, Terry Trofholz each had two hits... Price hit a solo home run, his second of the year.

The Frogs jumped out to a 3-0 start in WAC action, sweeping a three-game set from visiting Hawaii-Hilo (14-2, 6-1, 12-0)... starting pitchers Chris Bradshaw, Justin Crowder and Chad Durham combined to pitch 25 innings, allowing only three runs on 13 hits and four walks, while striking out 17... the bullpen made only one appearance in the entire series... the TCU defense committed only two errors in the entire series... offensively, a number of Frogs had solid weekends... Rudy Rivera had at least two hits in all three games, hitting .500 (6-12) in the series... Rivera, the leadoff hitter, drove in five runs in the series... TCUs current four-game winning streak equals the longest they enjoyed in the 2000 season... entering the San Jose State series, the Frogs are first in the WAC in hitting, second in earned run average and second in fielding percentage... in TCUs eight wins, the Frogs are hitting .383 and they have outscored their opponents by 76 runs (84-8)... plus, they have committed only four errors and posted a team ERA of 1.09... however, in the five losses by the Frogs, they are hitting .263, having been outscored by 28 runs (49-21)... they have committed 12 errors and have a team ERA of 7.95... Jason Price is hitting .452 (14-31) in his nine-game hitting streak... Walter Olmstead leads the WAC in average, hits, runs, RBIs, and total bases... Chris Bradshaw has allowed only six earned runs in four starts... freshman reliever Clayton Jerome recorded a win over Texas for his first career decision... came in the 1999 season... senior outfielder Marshall Wilson, who underwent shoulder surgery on Feb. 9 will redshirt this season... the Frogs have outscored their opponent by 25 runs in the 1st inning.
