FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team (7-20, 3-12 C-USA) dropped a three-game match to Marquette (17-10, 9-6 C-USA) on Friday at the Rickel Center. The team hopes to change their fortunes against DePaul on Saturday night.
Marquette jumped to the early lead in game one, but the Frogs came back to tie the game, then take the lead. Neither team could break away, though, until Marquette made a run late to take the game 30-24.
Game two was all Marquette as the Golden Eagles took it 30-18. The Golden Eagles out-hit the Frogs .500 to .147.
Marquette came out on fire again in game three as they took a 9-1 lead right off the bat. TCU attempted to narrow things and got within six, but couldn't pull it any closer as the Golden Eagles took the game 30-15.
"We played pretty well in the first game," said head coach Sandy Troudt. "We let it get away, though, then dug ourselves a pretty big hole."
TCU had four Frogs with four kills apiece. Tori Barlow posted nine assists. Marci King had nine digs, while Jennifer Sebastian added three blocks.
The Frogs conclude their regular-season at home against DePaul on Saturday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rickel Center. The evening will be Senior Night.
