FORT WORTH, Texas - Hampered by a slow start, the TCU men's swimming team dropped a 132-108 decision to local rival SMU Wednesday night at the Rickel Center. The loss to the No. 19 Mustangs was the Horned Frogs' second-straight setback to a nationally ranked foe as they fell to 0-2 for the season.
SMU flew out of the gates early, claiming the meet's first 10 victories. Senior all-American Michael Jacobson led the way for the Mustangs, claiming two individual titles and one relay crown.
The Frogs responded by notching two-straight victories. Sophomore Stephen Gebren (Bedford, Texas/L.D. Senior Scott Adkins (El Paso, Texas/Franklin) followed with his second win in as many meets in the 200-yard breastroke, clocking a time of 2:06.22.
TCU returns to action Friday night with its third-straight showdown versus an in-state rival, Austin College. The men's and women's meet is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
