The following awards were chosen based on players and/or performance in TCU's 41-7 victory against San Diego State. The Frogs are now 5-1 on the season.
Pappa's Burgers -Sack Counter
TCU recorded two sacks in its Nov. 6 game at Utah to increase its nation-leading total to 40. Oklahoma and Texas are tied for second in the country with 34. Thirteen Frogs have a sack this season. Defensive end Jerry Hughes tops the nation with 14. No other player has more than 11.
Charter Communication - Perfect Connection of the Week
Andy Dalton and Bart Johnson connected on a 52-yard pass on the Horned Frogs' third play from scrimmage. Four plays later, Ross Evans kicked a 37-yard field goal to give TCU a 3-0 lead.
Armed Forces Bowl - MWC Breakdown
Utah sits atop the league standings with a 6-0 record, followed by TCU at 6-1 with BYU and Air Force both at 5-1. The Mountain West Conference is on the verge of having four teams ranked in the top 25. Utah, TCU and BYU appear in the top 20 with Air Force sitting just outside the poll. Based on number of votes received, the Falcons are 28th. Air Force hosts BYU in a key MWC contest Nov. 15.
AT&T Yellow Pages - Hidden Gems
Cody Moore had a key 6-yard sack at Utah. The senior nose tackle has a career-best 6.0 sacks and 10.0 tackles for loss this season.
Albertson's - Turkey Counter
Albertson's is donating a turkey to a homeless shelter or charity for every point TCU scores this season. Through week nine of the 2008 campaign, the Albertson's Turkey Counter is at 322. The Frogs are on pace for 465 points which would shatter the school record of 410 set in 2000.
